i will start now.
i think everybody should see the "Rise and Fall of ECW" DVD. it has two DVDs. the first one shows the whole story of the original DVD. it starts back then before Paul Heyman was in charge. you get to see the promo that started the Extreme era when Shane Douglas won the NWA title and threw it away to get the ECW world title. all former ECW members that were under WWE contract tell some parts of the story. and of course Paul Heyman tells how everything happened. it is a great DVD and you will see why most people say it was way better than today.
the second DVD features matches. you will see the young Rey Mysterio Jr. and Psicosis, The Pitbulls vs. Raven & Stevie Richards or 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Sabu in an great match. another really cool match is Taz vs. Bam Bam Bigelow. and you got to see one of those nearly 5 star matches between RVD and Jerry Lynn.

Rise and Fall of ECW is one of the best and most heartbreaking stories told in wrestling history I grew up between NY and Philly and I still live in the town I was born and I grew up with ECW when I was 13-19(the Hardcore TV years) and to see what ECW has become is really sad and sometimes hard to watch for me so all I have to say is E-C-W
E-C-W

yeah i have that one too. the documentation is great, too. all ECW guys that werent part of WWE then talk about the ECW here. people like Terry Funk, Raven, Shane Douglas, Sandman, Sabu or Joey Styles. but the matches aren't that good.
you get to see matches from XPW. the fights are : Sabu vs. Terry Funk, Shane Douglas vs. Chris Candido, Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Hamrick and Sandman vs. Konnan.

The original ECW, when it was REALLY extreme, when it was REALLY hardcore. Not anymore. It's just another WWE brand, nothing special about it. sad.gif

I saw this on youtube. (yes I know I'm cheap) and I thought it was amazing how in depth this really was. The interviews were good and it really helped me understand the original ECW and have a greater respect for it even though I'm more new school.

they did show some great stuff but understand it was a wwe produced dvd so they only show what they wanted and wasnt everything they have if paul heymen sold everything to them or got what all the other wrestlers had

and don't forget how ECW changed wrestling, even today WWE uses a lot from old ECW :
ECW had cruiserweights, WCW and WWF signed them away
ECW used tables, WCW and WWF used them too
ECW had hardcore matches, WCW and WWF had hardcore matches too, but after ECW had them
oh, but don't forget all those thing had been done in Japan or Mexico before ECW showed them.

the original ECW will always be Legendary but I think the current product is a disgrace to their history most of the time.
